Kybella for Double Chin

Medical Spa & Cosmetic Dermatology Serving Beverly Hills, Lancaster, Cerritos, Santa Ana & Nearby Southern California

There's no doubt that Beverly Hills is a community that values fitness and vitality. The sense that you are youthful, vital and fit is tremendously important for your reputation in both personal and professional relationships. And nothing can torpedo that reputation quite like a double chin.

The double chin is one of the most common cosmetic complaints from our patients. And that makes sense, if you think about it: you can exercise your arms and legs, you can do crunches to tone your abs, but there's no truly effective exercise for your chin and neck.

There are, however, treatments available if you've tried diet and exercise and still find yourself with a double chin. One great option is Kybella®, a non-surgical injectable treatment that permanently removes the fat cells that cause a double chin.

If you're considering Kybella to address a troubling double chin, please call Beverly Hills Laser Institute, Inc. today at 888-333-2515 for a free consultation and examination. We serve patients in and around Cerritos, Santa Ana, Lancaster and other areas of California.

How Does Kybella Work?

In previous years, a patient who wanted to eliminate a double chin had only one option: surgery. This was an effective procedure, but most patients wanted an opportunity to address the problem without going through surgery.

This is where Kybella comes in. It's completely non-surgical and non-invasive, and the procedure itself is quite simple. Most patients require between two to four separate treatments to fully eliminate a double chin, though everyone is unique and so is every treatment plan.

The key to Kybella is its active ingredient, deoxycholic acid. This is a naturally occurring material in your body that helps break down and absorb fat cells. As such, Kybella works quite simply: by destroying fat cells in the chin area.

Once injected in the treatment area, the deoxycholic acid in Kybella destroys the membranes of your fat cells. This eventually leads to the cells being naturally eliminated.

How Long Does Kybella Last?

The great news is that when the fat cells in the chin area, also known as submental fat, die, they remain dead. They never return. Once you have achieved the look you've long desired, that's the end of the treatment. You won't need to keep returning to our office for Kybella injections.

Now, it's still important for you to maintain a healthy diet and plenty of exercise. While your body will not create new fat cells to replace the ones that have been eliminated, it's possible for remaining fat cells to enlarge in response to weight gain.

But studies are clear: patients who undergo a full course of Kybella treatments report a great deal of satisfaction with their results. The procedure is FDA-approved, which means you can trust in its safety and effectiveness.

Side effects are mild, and most patients report no meaningful discomfort during their procedures.
